The initiative will be carried out through a newly formed arm, Bajaj Integrated Health Systems (BIHS), aimed at building a structured and comprehensive healthcare delivery platform.
The rollout will begin in Pune later this year, where the group intends to set up a network that includes hospitals, local clinics, ambulatory surgery centres, and home-based care services. Mumbai is expected to be part of the next phase, followed by expansion into other major cities over time.
With a roadmap spanning 10 to 15 years, the group plans to establish a presence across key urban markets in India. The model is designed to offer an end-to-end healthcare ecosystem, covering multiple levels of care under one integrated system.
Led by Nirav Bajaj, the venture will prioritize a “continuum of care” strategy, focusing on delivering treatments outside traditional hospital settings wherever possible. This includes a strong push toward outpatient and day-care services, aligning with industry trends that favour cost efficiency and faster recovery.
The group is also exploring potential synergies with its insurance businesses to introduce products tailored for outpatient and short-stay treatments, an area that is seeing increasing demand.
The investment will be supported by internal accruals and promoter funding. This marks a strategic expansion beyond Bajaj’s established presence in manufacturing and financial services.
