Ahmedabad-based DHS Multispecialty Hospital has strengthened its healthcare infrastructure with the opening of a new twin-tower facility and the introduction of advanced robotic technology for knee replacement surgery.
The expanded facility has 60 beds, including an eight-bed intensive care unit, and three Class-100 modular operation theatres. These theatres are equipped to handle complex procedures across orthopaedics, oncology and other medical specialties.
Among the key additions is Johnson & Johnson’s fourth-generation VELYS robotic system, which has been introduced as part of the hospital’s dedicated robotic knee replacement centre. The technology is aimed at improving precision during knee replacement procedures and further enhancing the hospital’s orthopaedic and sports injury services.
Dr. Hardik M. Shah, Medical Director and Chief Orthopaedic Surgeon at DHS Multispecialty Hospital, said, “Our core mission has always been to bring world-class medical innovation to patients. The integration of the VELYS robotic system represents a giant leap forward in orthopaedic care. It enables unmatched surgical accuracy and optimal ligament balancing tailored to each patient’s anatomy, without exposing them to unnecessary pre-operative CT scan radiation. This means less joint friction, reduced post-operative pain and a faster return to daily mobility.”
The new expansion brings a broad range of clinical, diagnostic and preventive services together within the same campus. The hospital also offers round-the-clock diagnostic and support facilities, including X-ray, ultrasonography, CT scanning, a 24×7 laboratory and pharmacy.
Dr. Swagat Shah, Sports Injury Surgeon and Director at DHS Multispecialty Hospital, said, “The launch of our twin-tower and robotic knee centre brings advanced technology, experienced specialists, and comprehensive care together under one roof. Patients in Ahmedabad and across Gujarat no longer need to travel far to access top-tier sports injury and orthopaedic treatment.”
Beyond orthopaedic care, DHS Multispecialty Hospital provides multidisciplinary treatment across oncology, internal medicine, neurology, pulmonology, gastroenterology, urosurgery, gynaecology, plastic surgery and critical care.
The expansion marks a significant step in the hospital’s growth, combining advanced infrastructure, robotic-assisted surgery and multi-specialty services. It is also expected to improve access to specialised healthcare for patients in Ahmedabad and other parts of Gujarat, reducing the need to travel to distant centres for advanced treatment.
