iKure Techsoft Private Limited has secured USD 1.8 million in Pre-Series A funding to expand its technology-enabled primary healthcare model across underserved regions of India. The round is backed by Philips Foundation, World Diabetes Foundation, Bayer Foundation and Japan-based Prourgn LLC, supporting iKure’s plans to strengthen community healthcare, digital health and long-term patient monitoring.
iKure’s Primary Healthcare Network
The company currently operates across 11 Indian states, reaching 7,900 villages and more than 36 million people. Its network has recorded over 4.5 million patient interactions.
iKure’s healthcare ecosystem includes primary healthcare hubs, clinics, pharmacies, diagnostics and telemedicine services. These are connected through WHIMS, the company’s proprietary digital health platform, and supported by more than 400 trained Community Health Activists.
The model is designed to ensure that healthcare does not end with screening or diagnosis. Patient records remain available through WHIMS, allowing community health workers and clinical teams to continue monitoring patients over time.
This approach is particularly relevant for conditions such as diabetes, hypertension and maternal health complications, where regular follow-up can be critical. Non-communicable diseases are also the leading cause of death in India.
Technology and Community Care
iKure’s Diabetes360 programme applies the same continuity-of-care approach to chronic disease management. The company’s field network supports diabetes care alongside maternal health and cardiac monitoring.
More than 10,000 women-led Self-Help Groups further extend iKure’s reach into communities and households that may be difficult to access through conventional clinical services.
The company has deployed its model across varied geographical conditions, including flood-prone coastal areas and regions facing different levels of infrastructure constraints. This experience has helped demonstrate the adaptability of its healthcare delivery system across diverse settings.
How iKure Will Use the Funding
The USD 1.8 million investment will help iKure expand its healthcare hubs, clinics, pharmacies and diagnostic capabilities in underserved areas. The company also plans to increase the number of health workers operating within its community network.
A significant portion of the funding will be invested in WHIMS, including the development of AI-enabled clinical decision-support tools. These capabilities are intended to help frontline health workers identify patient risks earlier while providing clinical teams with better tools to manage larger patient populations.
The company will also strengthen remote patient monitoring and workforce development, further supporting its long-term approach to community-based healthcare.
Four Global Investors Back iKure
The Pre-Series A round brings together four organisations from healthcare, philanthropy and strategic investment: Philips Foundation, World Diabetes Foundation, Bayer Foundation, with participation facilitated through We Share Forward, and Prourgn LLC, Japan.
Each investor independently assessed iKure’s delivery model, technology platform and ability to scale before participating in the round.
Next Phase of Expansion
The new funding is expected to support iKure’s transition from strong regional coverage toward deeper engagement with state health systems and national health planning.
While the company’s community healthcare and digital-record model has potential for application beyond India, its immediate priority remains expanding its healthcare infrastructure and clinical reach within the country.
