Nagpur: HCG Cancer Centre Nagpur observed International Patient Safety Week 2026 with a series of engaging and knowledge-driven initiatives aimed at reinforcing awareness, responsibility and best practices around patient safety. The week witnessed active participation from the nursing team, caregivers and healthcare professionals across departments, highlighting the collective responsibility towards delivering safe, compassionate and quality cancer care.
The initiative focused on strengthening the understanding that patient safety is a continuous commitment and an integral part of everyday healthcare delivery. Through interactive sessions, knowledge-sharing activities and practical learning initiatives, the team was encouraged to remain vigilant and incorporate patient-safety practices into their daily clinical routines.
The activities emphasized key aspects of patient safety, including effective communication, safe clinical practices, infection prevention and control, teamwork, patient identification, medication safety and patient-centric care. The initiatives were designed not only to enhance knowledge but also to encourage active participation and continuous learning among the healthcare team.
