Medanta – The Medicity, headquartered in Gurugram, is set to expand its healthcare footprint by opening a new super specialty Mediclinic in Jaipur. The upcoming centre, located on Tonk Road, will provide expert consultations across more than five specialised fields, including Medical Oncology, Cardiology, Lung Transplant, Uro-oncology, and Gastrosciences. The clinic will also offer expert case evaluations for lung transplants, chest surgeries, and related conditions.
Speaking about the initiative, Dr. Naresh Trehan, Chairman and Managing Director of Medanta, said, “Medanta’s patient-first approach allows teams of super specialist doctors to collaborate seamlessly and arrive at the best possible treatment, customised for each patient in line with our guiding philosophy ‘Har Ek Jaan Anmol’, meaning ‘Every Life Is Invaluable’.”
The opening of this Mediclinic comes at a time when India is witnessing a worrying surge in heart-related diseases—one of the nation’s most serious health challenges. As part of its “Mission Save Heart” campaign, Medanta aims to raise awareness about the rising incidence of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) in young Indians, the growing burden of hypertension, and the increasing cases of sleep apnea. The initiative is being led by Dr. R. R. Kasliwal, Chairman of Clinical & Preventive Cardiology at Medanta, Gurugram, and a recipient of the Dr. B. C. Roy National Award. He highlighted that India accounts for nearly 20% of global deaths caused by CVDs, as reported by the World Health Organisation.
CVDs—including heart disease and hypertension—lead to approximately 17.7 million deaths worldwide and remain the top cause of mortality. Alarming data also shows that Indians tend to develop these conditions nearly ten years earlier than populations in Western countries.
Reiterating the importance of early awareness, Dr. Kasliwal noted, “According to the Global Burden of Disease report, nearly one-fourth of all diseases in India stem from cardiovascular conditions, primarily driven by the ‘4 Hs’—Heart attack, Hypertension, Heart failure, and heart muscle disease (cardiomyopathy). These interconnected conditions often act as both causes and consequences of one another.”
Commenting earlier in the day on the significance of the new Jaipur Mediclinic, Dr. Kasliwal emphasized that the facility represents a major step toward elevating healthcare services in Rajasthan. He said, “This Mediclinic is more than just a building, it is a testament to Medanta’s core values of providing affordable medical services to patients with care, compassion and commitment. This facility is built around our belief that quality healthcare should be accessible and focused on every individual who walks through our doors.”
Recently, the hospital chain also introduced its newly operational 550-bed Medanta Super Specialty Hospital in Noida, inaugurated by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, further strengthening its presence in the NCR region.
