Rising cases of premature births and neonatal complications in urban India have increased the need for specialised care—especially in cities like Mumbai. Responding to this, Wockhardt Hospitals has launched its dedicated Mother & Child Care Unit, Miracle, at Mumbai Central.
The unit brings IVF, maternity services, a Labour OT, and neonatal intensive care under one roof. This integrated setup ensures smooth care from conception to delivery and newborn recovery.
Its South Mumbai location improves access for patients across Mumbai and the wider MMR, including Thane and Navi Mumbai.
Designed for complex cases, the unit supports high-risk pregnancies with quick clinical intervention. A key highlight is its advanced NICU with 6 beds (expandable), equipped with ventilators, incubators, and warmers for critically ill and premature babies.
The facility also offers nitric oxide therapy for neonatal pulmonary hypertension—available at only a few centres in Mumbai—enhancing care for serious lung and heart conditions in newborns.
With continuous monitoring, neonatal transport, and nutritional care, the unit ensures complete support from fertility to postnatal recovery.
Ms. Zahabiya Khorakiwala, Managing Director, Wockhardt Hospitals, said:
“This launch reflects our commitment to strengthening comprehensive mother and child care in Mumbai. With Miracle, including advanced IVF services and Neonatal ICU, we aim to offer a complete ecosystem supported by a team of highly experienced doctors and nurses, ensuring the best care for both mothers and newborns, especially in high-risk situations.”
Dr. Virendra Chauhan, Centre Head, added:
“By integrating IVF services, maternity care, Labour OT, and advanced neonatal care under one roof in Mumbai Central, we are better equipped to manage complex cases that require immediate and coordinated intervention, especially for patients across Mumbai and the MMR region.”
Dr. Fazal Nabi, Head of Paediatrics, stated:
“The first few days of life are critical, particularly for premature and low birth weight babies. With advanced ventilation and therapies like nitric oxide now available in Mumbai, we can significantly improve survival and recovery outcomes for newborns.”
The Miracle unit strengthens fertility, maternity, and neonatal services in Mumbai, aiming to improve outcomes for both mothers and newborns across the region.
