BPL Medical Technologies has acquired Yozma BMtech Co, a firm focused on bone mineral density (BMD) diagnostic technologies. The move strengthens BPL’s presence in preventive healthcare while expanding its imaging and diagnostics portfolio, particularly in bone and women’s health.
Following the acquisition, BPL has launched BM Tech’s bone density measurement systems in India and Dubai. These systems are designed to assist clinicians in screening and monitoring conditions such as Osteoporosis and other bone-related disorders.
The company said the introduction of these systems aims to improve access to reliable diagnostic tools that support early detection and ongoing monitoring of bone health.
The devices feature high-speed scanning and high-resolution imaging while maintaining low radiation exposure. They also utilise fan-beam technology with multi-channel detectors to measure bone density across multiple anatomical areas.
Some models provide whole-body bone densitometry along with body composition analysis, enabling broader clinical insights. Their compact design also allows easy installation in hospitals and diagnostic centres with limited space.
According to the company, the launch addresses the rising demand for preventive diagnostics driven by ageing populations, lifestyle-related health risks, and the growing prevalence of osteoporosis. It also expands BPL’s footprint in the women’s health segment, where bone density assessment is essential for managing post-menopausal health risks.
Commenting on the development, Shravan Subramanyam said the acquisition marks an important step in strengthening the company’s preventive healthcare capabilities.
“Bone health, particularly among women and ageing populations, requires greater focus on early detection and monitoring. By bringing advanced bone mineral density technology to key markets, we aim to improve access to reliable screening solutions and support better clinical outcomes,” he said.
The company added that combining BM Tech’s diagnostic technology with BPL’s manufacturing strength, clinical expertise, and distribution network will help expand early detection services and strengthen its presence in global medical diagnostics markets.
