Livasa Hospitals Plans 368-Bed Multi-Speciality Hospital in Ludhiana, Targets 2,000-Bed Network

Livasa Hospitals has announced plans to expand its healthcare network in Punjab with a new 368-bed multi-speciality tertiary care hospital in Ludhiana. The upcoming facility is part of the group’s broader strategy to scale its capacity to nearly 2,000 beds while improving access to advanced medical services across the region.

The hospital will be built at Sherpur Chowk along the National Highway, offering convenient connectivity for patients from Ludhiana and nearby districts. The project is being developed in collaboration with Primewalk Infra Private Limited, a project company linked to OneCrest Infra. It will come up on a freehold land parcel of more than 9,900 square yards and will feature a built-up area of over 3.75 lakh square feet.

The facility is expected to become operational within the next 15–18 months. The project involves a total investment of around ₹360 crore, including the contribution of the landowner, highlighting a major private healthcare investment in the region.

Ludhiana, one of Punjab’s largest and most economically active cities, currently faces a shortage of private healthcare infrastructure. With relatively fewer private hospital beds available per 1,000 people compared to other major cities in the state, many residents travel elsewhere for specialised treatment. The new Livasa hospital aims to bridge this gap by bringing advanced, technology-driven tertiary care services closer to patients.

Established in 2008, Livasa Hospitals operates a regional healthcare network across Mohali, Amritsar, Nawanshahr (SBS Nagar), Hoshiarpur, and Khanna. The group currently runs more than 800 beds supported by over 250 senior consultants. Its facilities include 280 ICU beds, 20 modular operation theatres and six advanced cath labs, offering care across more than 38 medical specialties to patients from Punjab and neighbouring states. Private equity firm IndiaRF acquired a controlling stake in the hospital network in September 2023.

Commenting on the development, Mr. Anurag Yadav, CEO, Livasa Hospitals, said:
“Ludhiana represents a key milestone in Livasa’s growth journey. As one of the most important cities in Punjab, it deserves access to advanced, high-quality healthcare close to home. With our upcoming hospital, we aim to bring our clinical expertise, modern infrastructure, and patient-centric approach to the people of Ludhiana and neighbouring districts. This expansion also strengthens our growing network across Punjab and reflects our commitment to building a trusted healthcare ecosystem for the region.”

Shantanu Nalavadi, Managing Director of IndiaRF, added:
“Livasa has undergone tremendous transformation since our investment two years ago. IndiaRF has since professionalized the management, re-branded the group, and has invested in modernizing the existing facilities and acquiring the advance equipment. As we strengthen our new identity, it is now the right time to execute our expansion strategy by entering the largest city of Punjab – Ludhiana. We remain committed to expand the Livasa’s network through similar opportunities in the region and are actively looking to make more investments in in this platform.”

With the Ludhiana project, Livasa Hospitals continues to expand its presence in Punjab while strengthening access to advanced tertiary care. The upcoming hospital is expected to play an important role in addressing the region’s growing demand for quality healthcare services.
