Medanta to Invest ₹550 Crore in 400-Bed Multi-Specialty Hospital in Varanasi

Healthcare major Medanta is planning to expand its footprint in Uttar Pradesh with a new multi-specialty hospital in Varanasi. The upcoming facility will have a capacity of around 400 beds and is expected to involve an investment of nearly Rs 550 crore.

The proposed hospital will offer advanced medical services across multiple specialties, aiming to strengthen access to quality tertiary care in the region. The move is part of the company’s broader strategy to grow its presence beyond metro cities and cater to rising healthcare demand in tier-2 markets.

Highlighting the vision behind the expansion, Dr. Naresh Trehan said, “This marks the beginning of a transformative journey to strengthen healthcare infrastructure and deliver advanced medical care closer to people.”

Once operational, the Varanasi unit is likely to enhance regional healthcare infrastructure and reduce the need for patients to travel to bigger cities for complex treatments. The project will also contribute to local employment generation and support the overall development of medical services in eastern Uttar Pradesh.

Medanta, operated by Global Health, continues to focus on expanding its network with high-end facilities equipped with modern technology and specialist care.
