Apollo Hospitals has introduced a specialised Centre for Venous Disorders at its flagship facility on Greams Road in Chennai, strengthening its vascular care services with advanced and patient-focused treatment options.
The newly opened centre is designed to offer integrated care for a wide range of venous conditions by bringing together experts from vascular surgery, radiology, dermatology and wound management. The facility aims to simplify treatment through coordinated consultations, rapid diagnostics and minimally invasive day-care procedures.
Equipped with modern imaging technology and advanced treatment systems, the centre will manage conditions including varicose veins, deep vein thrombosis (DVT), venous ulcers, chronic venous insufficiency and vein-related bleeding disorders. The hospital said the approach is expected to reduce recovery time, shorten hospital stays and improve patient outcomes.
Speaking at the launch, Dr Ilankumaran Kaliamoorthy said, “With the launch of the Centre for Venous Disorders, we have made significant progress in tackling a group of disorders which often go undiagnosed and inadequately treated. With our multidisciplinary approach and advanced technology, we aim to provide our patients with timely, efficient and minimally invasive treatment, thereby improving quality of life and long-term outcomes.”
Dr Balaji highlighted that venous disorders are often mistaken as cosmetic concerns despite their impact on mobility and daily life. He said early diagnosis and timely treatment are crucial, adding that the centre will focus on precise, minimally invasive procedures that support faster recovery.
According to Dr Rajarajan Venkatesan, many patients seek treatment only after complications such as ulcers or thrombosis develop. He noted that the centre’s strategy includes detailed evaluation, risk assessment and long-term monitoring to help prevent recurrence of venous conditions.
Senior hospital officials, including Naveen and Dr Anil, were also present during the launch event.
The centre will provide services such as early screening, same-day imaging and diagnostics, laser-based and endovenous therapies, wound and ulcer care, along with lifestyle guidance and long-term follow-up support.
With this initiative, Apollo Hospitals aims to strengthen specialised vascular healthcare in the region while improving early detection and long-term management of venous disorders.
