Apollo Hospitals is preparing for a significant expansion of its hospital network, with plans to add more than 5,800 beds over the next five years. The move comes as demand for specialised and complex healthcare continues to support growth across its hospital business.
The expansion will include new facilities as well as additional capacity at existing hospitals. Projects planned in Indore, Dwarka, Ranchi and the Delhi Proton Centre are expected to contribute around 1,200 beds. Apollo also plans to add 148 beds at its existing facilities in Indore and Guwahati.
The company recently commissioned its new hospital in Sarjapur, Bengaluru, adding to its growing presence in the city. Overall hospital occupancy improved to 70% in the June 2026 quarter, compared with 65% in the corresponding quarter a year earlier.
Apollo reported consolidated revenue of ₹7,043 crore for Q1 FY27, representing a 21% year-on-year increase. Consolidated profit after tax rose 34% to ₹581 crore, while EBITDA increased 28% to ₹1,092 crore.
The core Healthcare Services division remained a major contributor. Revenue from the segment climbed 22% to ₹3,567 crore, with EBITDA reaching ₹862 crore, a 20% increase from the year-ago period.
Apollo’s pharmacy and digital healthcare operations also maintained strong momentum. Apollo HealthCo recorded a 20% rise in revenue to ₹2,977 crore, while EBITDA increased to ₹171 crore from ₹94 crore in the same period last year. The company added 151 stores during the quarter, taking its total network to 7,440 stores.
The Apollo Health and Lifestyle segment reported 15% revenue growth to ₹499 crore. EBITDA improved to ₹59 crore from ₹40 crore, while its quarterly loss narrowed sharply to ₹1 crore from ₹8 crore.
The expansion reflects Apollo’s broader strategy of increasing capacity in metropolitan markets and major urban clusters while strengthening access to advanced treatments. The company has indicated that rising demand for complex care, including oncology and orthopaedics, is supporting the growth outlook.
Apollo Hospitals is entering its next growth phase with a combination of capacity expansion, stronger hospital utilization and improving financial performance. The planned 5,800-plus beds could substantially strengthen its footprint and help the group meet India’s growing demand for specialized healthcare services.
