Ambuja Neotia Healthcare Venture Ltd (ANHVL) is planning a major expansion across eastern India, with an investment of around Rs 2,200 crore over the next four to five years.
The healthcare arm of the Ambuja Neotia Group plans to add nearly 1,800 beds, taking its overall capacity from the current 700 beds to around 2,500 beds, Managing Director Parthiv Neotia said.
Rs 150 Crore Women and Child Hospital in Howrah
As part of the expansion, ANHVL will invest approximately Rs 150 crore in a new 120-bed women and child care hospital in Howrah, West Bengal.
The facility will operate under the group’s Neotia Bhagirathi Woman and Child Care Centre network and is expected to open by April 2029.
“Our existing four healthcare facilities have 700 beds, and we identified Howrah as a key growth corridor with a growing need for specialised women and child healthcare services,” Neotia said.
The new hospital will provide specialised maternal, neonatal and paediatric services. The company aims to make advanced healthcare more accessible to families in Howrah and nearby areas, while reducing the need for long-distance travel for treatment.
Six Projects Under Development
ANHVL currently runs four healthcare facilities and has six more projects under development. Two additional projects have also been finalised and are expected to be developed at a later stage, Neotia said.
The company is using an asset-light approach for several upcoming hospitals to improve capital efficiency. Projects in Raipur, Guwahati and Durgapur are among those being developed through this model.
In Durgapur, ANHVL has joined hands with Amit Metaliks to develop a women and child care hospital. Amit Metaliks will contribute the land and infrastructure, while ANHVL will be responsible for managing the hospital’s operations.
Expansion Across Key Eastern Markets
The company’s specialised women and child care centre in Raipur is expected to become operational by the end of 2026.
ANHVL’s broader development pipeline covers several important eastern Indian markets. It includes a multispeciality hospital in Guwahati, another multispeciality facility at Taratala in Kolkata, and a multispeciality hospital in New Town, Kolkata.
The pipeline also includes women and child care hospitals in Howrah, Durgapur and Raipur.
With a Rs 2,200 crore investment plan and nearly 1,800 additional beds in the pipeline, ANHVL is positioning itself for a significant expansion across eastern India. Its focus on women and child care, along with multispeciality hospitals and asset-light partnerships, is expected to strengthen access to specialised healthcare across the region.
