Yatharth Hospital & Trauma Care Services is in discussions with US private equity investor Advent International to raise as much as Rs 3,000 crore, as the Noida-based hospital group looks to accelerate its expansion.
The proposed fundraise comes as Yatharth continues to expand its hospital network across Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana through new facilities, acquisitions and capacity additions.
The group recently announced plans for a 250-bed hospital in Gurugram. With this addition, Yatharth’s network is expected to reach around 2,800 beds across Noida, Greater Noida, Noida Extension, Greater Faridabad, Faridabad, Model Town in New Delhi, Jhansi-Orchha in Madhya Pradesh and Agra.
Yatharth is targeting more than 5,000 beds over the next three years. The expansion plan also includes investments in areas such as robotic surgery, oncology and transplant care.
The company’s board is scheduled to “discuss and consider the growth plans of the company” along with possible fundraising options.
The capital could be raised through a combination of debt, a rights issue, preferential allotment or qualified institutional placement, according to the company’s exchange disclosure.
If the proposed investment moves ahead, Advent is expected to receive a minority holding in Yatharth. Sources indicate that its stake could be in the range of 20% to 24%, with the transaction potentially structured as a primary share issue in two stages.
Advent has prior experience in India’s hospital sector. Under Shweta Jalan’s leadership, the investment firm had backed Care Hospitals before exiting in 2016 through a stake sale to UAE-based Abraaj Group.
The firm returned to India’s healthcare space in 2024 with a Rs 2,475-crore equity investment in Apollo 24|7, the digital healthcare arm of Apollo Hospitals. The deal gave Advent a stake in Apollo’s digital healthcare platform.
The latest discussions follow earlier reports of interest from Advent International and Blackstone-backed Aster DM Quality Care in acquiring a controlling interest in Yatharth Hospitals and Trauma Care Services.
What it means for Yatharth
A potential investment from Advent could give Yatharth additional capital to fund its ambitious bed expansion and strengthen specialised healthcare services. However, the fundraising remains subject to the company’s final decision and transaction terms.
