Neuberg Life Check Responds to Karnataka’s Growing Shift Towards Proactive Preventive Health Screening

Nearly five lakh B2C diagnostic interactions reveal rising demand for preventive health checks, comprehensive screening and personalised testing across age groups

Bengaluru – September 16, 2026: Preventive healthcare is increasingly becoming a proactive choice among consumers in Karnataka, with more individuals opting for health checks even in the absence of a doctor’s referral. Data from Neuberg Diagnostics’ B2C network, covering nearly five lakh diagnostic interactions over 22 months, indicates a growing shift towards regular health monitoring, comprehensive screening and self-directed testing.

Against this changing healthcare behaviour, Neuberg Life Check, a preventive health test, offers individuals a structured way to assess key health parameters and understand areas that may require closer attention. The offering also includes the ‘Make Your Own Package’ option, enabling individuals to personalise their health screening based on factors such as age, lifestyle, family history and specific health concerns.

The analysis across Neuberg Diagnostics’ Walk-In, Home Collection, CCC and ACCC channels recorded 2,44,929 preventive health checks during the analysis period. Preventive health check volumes grew 15.2% between January and August 2026 compared with the same period in 2025, with March and May recording particularly strong increases of 22.4% and 31.1%, respectively. From January through July 2026, each month recorded more than 12,000 wellness health checks — a level not reached in any month before January 2026.

A key finding from the data is the growing role of individual decision-making in diagnostics. 35.1% of B2C patients did not have a doctor’s name mentioned on their test request, indicating that more than one in three consumers were independently choosing to undergo testing.

The demand was also spread across age groups. Individuals aged 60 years and above accounted for 26.8% of the B2C patient base, while the 31–40 age group contributed 17.8%. The 18–30 and 41–50 age groups together accounted for another 32.2%, highlighting that preventive health screening is becoming relevant across different stages of adulthood.

Metabolic health emerges as a key focus

Diabetes and glucose monitoring emerged as the largest clinical domain within the B2C segment. HbA1c testing increased by 90% over a three-month period, rising from 5,341 to 10,163 tests, with the increase driven largely by self-presenting patients monitoring their metabolic health.

Thyroid testing, cardiac and lipid profiles, Vitamin D and iron studies also accounted for significant volumes of investigations, reflecting growing consumer attention towards metabolic, cardiovascular and nutritional health.

Among women aged 18–30, reproductive and endocrine health emerged as another significant area of testing. Prolactin, AMH, Progesterone and Testosterone featured among the leading investigations, indicating growing interest among younger women in understanding their hormonal and reproductive health.

Dr. Sujay Prasad, Chief Medical Director, NDPL Director, Neuberg Diagnostics, said, “The way people approach preventive healthcare is changing. We are increasingly seeing individuals take the initiative to understand their health through regular testing rather than waiting for symptoms or a referral. The rise in metabolic, thyroid, nutritional and hormonal investigations also shows that people are becoming more conscious of specific health risks and life-stage needs. However, preventive testing should be purposeful — the objective is not simply to do more tests, but to choose investigations that are relevant to an individual and understand the results in the right clinical context.”

The growing preference for comprehensive screening is further reflected in the adoption of health packages. During the analysis period, 36,332 B2C patients opted for structured health packages, including SUVARNA, NARL Advanced, Captain’s Checkup and NARL Basic. 90.5% of package buyers came through Walk-In, CCC or Home Collection channels, indicating strong consumer uptake through direct and convenient access points.

Home Collection was used by 26,983 patients, with comprehensive packages among the most requested services. This suggests that consumers are increasingly using the convenience of home-based diagnostics for broader health assessments rather than limiting themselves to individual tests.

Comprehensive full-body packages recorded 42% year-on-year growth, while senior citizen packages reached 17,439 all-time, growing 16% year-on-year. Antenatal packages also recorded 49% growth.

Health screening is also increasingly being linked to awareness periods and specific life stages. Festival- and awareness-linked health checks, including those around Sankranti, Republic Day and World Kidney Day, increased from 320 to 1,648 in comparable annual periods a 415% rise. The Sankranti 2026 package alone recorded 627 health checks.

These trends reinforce the relevance of preventive health offerings that can cater to both broad health assessment and individual areas of concern. Neuberg Life Check provides a comprehensive preventive health assessment, while its ‘Make Your Own Package’ option allows individuals to select relevant add-on panels based on their personal health profile.

The personalised options include panels covering heart risk, diabetes, thyroid health, nutrition, allergies and women’s hormonal health, including PCOS and menopause-focused investigations. The Neuberg Life Check Advance package provides a broader preventive assessment covering parameters such as complete blood count, blood sugar, lipid profile, liver and kidney function, thyroid profile, Vitamin B12 and Vitamin D.

With preventive screening becoming increasingly integrated into consumers’ regular health behaviour, Neuberg Life Check aims to support a more proactive approach to health assessment by combining comprehensive screening with the flexibility to address individual health priorities.
