Mumbai, 24th September 2026: For this year’s Ganesh Chaturthi festivities, HCG Cancer Hospital Colaba celebrated the auspicious occasion by conducting an awareness campaign promoting the importance of early cancer screening amongst the local communities close to the hospital as well as in the vicinity areas in Colaba, Mumbai. As part of the campaign, the hospital staff and members distributed more than 25,000 vouchers for cancer screening amongst the local Mumbaikars.
Highlighting on the initiative, Mr. Rupesh Choubey, Vice President – Regional COO, Maharashtra & MP, HCG Cancer Hospital, said, “Festivals bring people together and remind us of the importance of hope, positivity and togetherness. On Ganesh Chaturthi, the Ganpati Sthapana was performed by doctors and the hospital staff marking the beginning of the five-day celebrations at the hospital. Clinicians and team members from across the hospital enthusiastically participated in the rituals, creating an atmosphere of togetherness and positivity within the hospital. The hospital highlighted that the entire celebration on its premises was conducted with due adherence to patient safety, infection prevention and control measures, and other hospital guidelines, ensuring that the festive spirit remained aligned with the hospital’s commitment to safe and patient-centric care.
As the festivities progressed over the days, hospital staff and members visited several local communities in Colaba and the vicinity areas. They conducted awareness sessions sharing information with the locals on how regular screening and advanced tests can help detect cancer at an early stage. The volunteers also distributed cancer screening vouchers post conducting these awareness sessions.
On the final day of the Ganapati celebrations, the hospital conducted a Visarjan rally from its premises in Colaba to Girgaon Chowpatty. The hospital distributed cancer screening vouchers to devotees and the local community present at the rally and its vicinity as well. For those claiming the vouchers, they can avail screening services which include Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA), Mammography, Sonomammography, Ultrasonography (USG) and the advanced PET-CT scans for detecting various types of cancer. Through this campaign, it is expecting several patients to visit the hospital to utilize its services in the coming months.
