Apollo Hospitals has appointed Upasana Kamineni Konidela as Director – Projects as the healthcare group moves ahead with an expansion programme estimated at around ₹8,600 crore.
In her new role, Upasana will coordinate with Apollo’s leadership, clinical teams and project partners to oversee the planning and execution of hospital projects across India.
Her responsibilities will cover new hospitals as well as the expansion and modernisation of existing facilities. She will also focus on maintaining consistent design standards across patient areas, with attention to signage, navigation, clinical workflows and the overall comfort of patients and their families.
Upasana will further work with project teams to strengthen processes, reporting and coordination from the design stage through the opening of new facilities.
Apollo’s overall expansion programme includes an estimated ₹8,600 crore in project costs. This includes around ₹1,565 crore allocated to listed brownfield projects at existing hospitals.
The expansion spans several major cities, including Hyderabad, Delhi NCR, Chennai, Mumbai and Bengaluru. Projects are also planned in Lucknow, Varanasi, Indore, Guwahati and Ranchi, among other locations. Apollo has not yet specified which projects and budgets will fall directly under Upasana’s mandate.

As Apollo grows, I want every project to serve its neighbourhood, create meaningful opportunities for the people who work with us, and help more people take their health into their own hands,” Upasana Kamineni Konidela said in a statement.
The appointment comes at a significant stage in Apollo Hospitals’ growth plans. With new facilities, upgrades and expansions planned across multiple cities, Upasana’s role will focus on bringing greater consistency and patient-centric thinking to the group’s upcoming projects.
