Paras Healthcare Unveils Major Expansion Plan, Targets 3,000 Beds with 800-Bed Addition

Paras Healthcare is stepping up its expansion strategy as rising patient demand and plans to strengthen its financial position shape its next phase of growth. The hospital operator intends to establish two new facilities in Haryana and Punjab, adding 800 beds to its existing network over the next 18–24 months.

The planned expansion will take the company’s total operational capacity from approximately 2,200 beds to around 3,000. The new hospitals will include a 300-bed facility in New Gurugram and a 500-bed hospital in Ludhiana, Punjab.

Dharminder Kumar Nagar, Managing Director of Paras Healthcare, said, “We are very excited that not only have we built largest footprint in North India and East of India with 2,200 beds already operational amongst these facilities, we are excited to announce two more hospitals, which are quickly in the next 18 to 24 months becoming operational.”

High Occupancy Supports Capacity Expansion

The expansion comes amid growing demand for healthcare services, particularly in Gurugram, where occupancy at the company’s facility has exceeded 80%. The additional beds are expected to help accommodate more patients and ease capacity constraints as demand for hospital services increases.

Once the new facilities become operational, Paras Healthcare’s bed capacity will rise by approximately 36% from its current level. The move is also expected to improve the company’s ability to serve patients across its key markets in North and East India.

According to Nagar, investments made by the company in recent years are beginning to deliver results, placing the hospital operator at a significant stage in its growth journey. Higher utilisation of existing facilities, combined with the planned capacity addition, could support revenue growth as the company expands its hospital network.

₹1,450 Crore IPO to Support Debt Reduction

Alongside its expansion plans, Paras Healthcare intends to strengthen its balance sheet through a proposed ₹1,450 crore initial public offering (IPO).

The offering comprises a fresh issue of ₹500 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) of ₹950 crore. While the fresh issue will provide funds to the company, the OFS will involve the sale of shares by existing shareholders.

Nagar said the company currently has net bank debt of ₹550 crore. Of the fresh issue proceeds, ₹375 crore is earmarked for debt repayment, while the remaining ₹125 crore will be allocated to general corporate purposes. The proposed repayment is expected to substantially reduce the company’s borrowing burden. Management anticipates interest savings of approximately ₹30–35 crore in FY28 as a result of lower debt and financing costs.

Financial Flexibility to Support Future Growth

Reducing debt could help Paras Healthcare improve profitability and strengthen its ability to fund future investments. Lower interest expenses may also provide additional financial flexibility as the company brings its new hospitals into operation.

The combination of capacity expansion, rising patient demand and planned debt reduction is expected to shape Paras Healthcare’s next phase of development.

Paras Healthcare’s planned addition of 800 beds reflects its strategy to expand healthcare access while improving financial stability. The success of this strategy will depend on the timely commissioning of the new hospitals, patient demand and the company’s ability to manage expansion costs while maintaining operational efficiency.
