Surat, Gujarat: A new healthcare facility in Surat aims to bring traditional Ayurvedic treatment, modern diagnostic support and preventive wellness services under one roof. JOGI Ayurved has launched a 50-bed multispeciality hospital spanning 1 lakh sq ft, positioning it as Gujarat’s largest Ayurveda hospital.
Located near the ISKCON Temple in Jahangirpura, the hospital will serve patients from Surat, other parts of India and overseas. Digital consultations will extend access to patients in countries including the US, UK and Canada.
The hospital was inaugurated by Madhavpriyadasji Swami, President of Swaminarayan Gurukul Vishwavidya Pratishthanam (SGVP), Chharodi, and Gujarat Health Minister Praful Pansheriya. Both dignitaries also toured the facility.
Comprehensive Ayurvedic Healthcare Services
The hospital features more than 10 speciality outpatient departments (OPDs), offering consultations, Panchakarma therapies, inpatient care and wellness programmes. Additional services include physiotherapy, laboratory testing, personalised nutrition guidance, health coaching, selected Ayurvedic surgical procedures, online consultations and medicine delivery.
Its clinical specialities cover digestive disorders, skin and hair concerns, cardiology, gynaecology, ear, nose and throat (ENT) care, neurology, spine-related conditions and pain management.
Nilesh Jogal, founder of JOGI Ayurved, said, “Since we began in 2005, our aim has been to make Ayurveda accessible to more people in keeping with our philosophy of ‘Authentic Ayurved for Everyone’. The new hospital marks a next chapter in our journey, allowing us to offer more comprehensive care in a larger, purpose-built healthcare facility.”
Dr. Devangi Jogal, an M.D. Gold Medallist in Ayurveda with more than 23 years of experience, highlighted the importance of individualised treatment.
“Every patient has a different health history, lifestyle and set of concerns. Our approach is to understand these individual needs and guide patients accordingly, using Ayurvedic principles alongside services such as physiotherapy, diagnostic tests and personalised dietary guidance. Having these facilities in one place can make it easier for patients to receive care.”
Promoting Preventive Healthcare and Healthy Living
Beyond clinical treatment, the hospital includes an interactive exhibition designed to introduce visitors to Ayurveda, disease prevention and healthier lifestyle practices.
Visitors can access free Prakriti Parikshan, an Ayurvedic assessment of individual constitution, and obtain a personalised health scorecard through the “How Swasth Are You?” quiz. The initiative also highlights daily routines and habits that may support well-being and the body’s biological clock.
Other attractions include AI-generated educational videos, Pakshastra demonstrations exploring the relationship between food and health, and Aushadh Vitran, which introduces visitors to Ayurvedic medicines and their role in traditional healthcare.
These initiatives aim to encourage a broader understanding of Ayurveda, extending its relevance beyond treatment to everyday health choices and long-term wellness.
Conclusion
With its expanded clinical facilities, specialist services and focus on preventive healthcare, JOGI Ayurved’s new hospital represents a significant addition to Surat’s Ayurvedic healthcare infrastructure. Its integrated approach seeks to make traditional Ayurvedic care more accessible while encouraging individuals to take a proactive role in maintaining their health.
