Mental healthcare provider Amaha is preparing to complete a ₹100-crore funding round to expand its clinical network and improve access to specialist treatment across India.
The investment brings together existing backers Lightbox Ventures and Fireside Ventures, along with London-based Sandbox International Holdings Ltd. Other participants include Nithin Kamath through Rainmatter and the family offices of Shreyas Shibulal, Ashish Bharat Ram and Adarsh Jalan. The company has also secured ₹10 crore in debt financing from Alteria Capital.
Amaha plans to use the funds to open and expand hospitals and clinics in major Indian cities. The investment will also support the recruitment and development of clinical teams, technology upgrades and stronger systems for delivering high-quality mental healthcare.
Amit Malik, psychiatrist, founder and CEO of Amaha, said, “Our focus now is on deepening our clinical expertise and further building the infrastructure and systems needed to make evidence-based specialist mental healthcare accessible to more individuals and families across India, while maintaining high quality of treatment.”
Established in 2016, Amaha offers a range of mental health services, including digital self-care tools, outpatient consultations and inpatient treatment. It currently operates nine centres across Bengaluru, Delhi-NCR and Mumbai.
The planned fundraise marks another step in Amaha’s efforts to scale its mental healthcare operations. Its focus on expanding physical centres, strengthening clinical capabilities and investing in technology could help it serve more individuals and families across the country.
