Prayagraj to Get 550-Bed Super-Speciality Hospital as Park Hospital Invests Rs. 200 Crore

Park Medi World Limited is expanding its healthcare presence in Uttar Pradesh with a planned 550-bed multi-super-speciality hospital in Prayagraj. The Rs. 200 crore project is expected to improve access to organised, multi-speciality medical services for residents of the city and surrounding areas.

Park Hospital, part of Park Medi World, recently held the groundbreaking ceremony for the facility. The hospital is being developed in partnership with the Prayagraj Municipal Corporation under a public-private partnership (PPP) arrangement. Construction is expected to be completed within two years of the appointed date specified in the concession agreement.

The project follows the PPP mandate awarded to Park Medi World in August 2026. It also supports the company’s strategy to expand into emerging healthcare markets beyond major metropolitan centres.

Park Medi World Targets 6,660 Beds by 2028

Park Medi World currently operates 17 hospitals with a combined capacity of around 4,290 beds. The company plans to increase this capacity to approximately 6,660 beds by December 2028 through new developments, acquisitions and expansions at existing hospitals.

The Prayagraj facility is an important part of this expansion strategy, with the potential to strengthen healthcare access across the region.

Expanding Healthcare Network Across Uttar Pradesh

The company already operates a 360-bed hospital in Agra and is preparing to commission two additional facilities in Kanpur and Gorakhpur under the operations and management (O&M) model.

These developments are expected to broaden Park Medi World’s reach across Uttar Pradesh and improve its ability to serve patients across multiple regional markets.

Beyond the state, the group has an established presence in Punjab through Park Hospital facilities in Bathinda, Patiala and Mohali. Its wider network covers 15 cities across six states in North India, supported by investments in hospital infrastructure, clinical services and patient care.

Focus on Regional Healthcare Access

Commenting on the project, Dr. Ankit Gupta, Managing Director of Park Medi World Limited, said, “The groundbreaking of our Prayagraj hospital marks an important milestone in our expansion journey. As we work towards increasing our network capacity to approximately 6,600 beds by December 2028, our focus remains on strengthening our presence across North India and expanding access to healthcare in emerging markets. Prayagraj is an important addition to our growth plans, reflecting our commitment to developing healthcare infrastructure that responds to the needs of the communities we serve.”

Conclusion

The upcoming Prayagraj hospital is set to strengthen Park Medi World’s regional network while adding significant multi-speciality capacity in Uttar Pradesh. As the group pursues its expansion targets, the project reflects the growing role of healthcare investment in improving access to organised medical services beyond India’s major cities.
