World Brain Day 2025: A Global Call to Prioritize Brain Health

World Brain Day is observed annually on July 22 to promote awareness about the importance of brain health and neurological well-being. The initiative was launched by the World Federation of Neurology (WFN) in 2014 and coincides with the Federation’s founding date-July 22, 1957. Over the years, it has evolved into a global movement engaging healthcare professionals, organizations, and the public in conversations about brain disorders and the need for early intervention and support.

Each year, World Brain Day focuses on a specific theme addressing a major neurological issue, such as stroke, Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy, or mental health. The aim is to educate people, reduce stigma, and advocate for better access to neurological care and research. Activities include webinars, public outreach, educational campaigns, and collaborative efforts by medical institutions worldwide.

Now in its 11th year, World Brain Day continues to highlight the critical role of brain health in overall well-being. With neurological disorders becoming a growing global burden, the initiative serves as a timely reminder for governments, healthcare systems, and individuals to invest in brain health, support innovation, and promote lifelong neurological care.
