Marking World IBD Day, Yashoda Group of Hospitals has officially launched a dedicated Center of Excellence for Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) at its Somajiguda campus.
This state-of-the-art facility is the first integrated IBD center of its kind in the region, designed to serve as a comprehensive care hub for patients from all over India. “With IBD cases on the rise, particularly among younger populations, there’s an urgent need for a multidisciplinary approach to treatment. Our center is equipped to provide expert consultations, nutritional and psychological support, advanced diagnostic services, endoscopy, and biologic infusion therapies—all under one roof,” said Dr. Pavan Gorukanti, Director at Yashoda Hospitals.
Addressing the launch, senior IBD specialists emphasized the increasing prevalence of conditions like Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis in the country. Dr. Kiran Peddi, who is spearheading the initiative, highlighted how the center brings together leading experts in both medical and surgical fields to effectively manage complex IBD cases.
Prominent gastroenterologists including Dr. Sarada Pasangulapati, Dr. Chandrashekhar Reddy, and Dr. Sreera were also in attendance at the event.
