New Delhi: Delhi has unveiled a significant milestone in its healthcare infrastructure with the launch of 33 revamped Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (AAMs). These clinics have been modernized with improved interiors, enhanced sanitation, and cutting-edge medical equipment, aiming to provide accessible and quality healthcare to urban populations.
The upgraded facilities offer an array of free services, including medicines, 14 in-house diagnostic tests, and 79 outsourced tests. Special provisions for women, such as cervical cancer screening and maternal healthcare services, are also being emphasized. Additionally, the centers promote holistic wellness by incorporating yoga sessions for physical and mental well-being.
This initiative reflects the government’s vision to reduce the burden on larger hospitals by equipping local healthcare centers to handle primary healthcare needs effectively. Experts have lauded the effort, predicting a transformative impact on urban healthcare accessibility, especially for economically disadvantaged communities.
