Ambuja Neotia Group Plans Rs 700+ Crore Integrated Hospital–Hotel Project in Guwahati

The Ambuja Neotia Group has unveiled plans to invest more than Rs 700 crore in a major integrated healthcare and hospitality development in Guwahati. Approved by the Government of Assam, the project will combine a 300-bed multi-speciality hospital with a premium 4+ star hotel, strengthening both healthcare services and tourism infrastructure in the region.

The project will be developed on a 2.88-acre mixed-use site in Fancy Bazar on Old Jail Road. Of this, 1.46 acres will be allocated for the hospital, which will be built by Ambuja Neotia Healthcare Venture Limited with an investment of around Rs 360–400 crore. The planned facility will provide specialised services in cardiology, neurology, orthopaedics, oncology and critical care, and is expected to serve as a key referral centre for complex medical cases across the Northeast.

The remaining 1.42 acres will house the hospitality component. The 200–250 key premium hotel, to be developed by Ambuja Neotia Hotel Venture Limited, will involve an investment of roughly Rs 350 crore. Designed to cater to both business and leisure travellers, the hotel will include banqueting and meeting spaces along with multiple dining options.

According to the company, the hospital alone is expected to create around 1,500–2,000 direct jobs, while also generating significant indirect employment through supporting services and local businesses, providing a boost to the city’s economy.

The project will mark the group’s second healthcare venture in Assam, following the launch of the Neotia Bhagirathi Woman and Childcare Centre in 2025. While that facility focuses on women and child health services, the upcoming hospital will expand the group’s presence into comprehensive multi-speciality and critical care services for adults.

Parthiv Neotia said Guwahati’s strategic role as the gateway to the Northeast influenced the group’s decision to pursue the integrated development.

“We believe this integrated development can contribute meaningfully to the region’s healthcare infrastructure and urban economy,” he said.

He further added, “At Ambuja Neotia, we have always believed that meaningful development must serve both people and place. By bringing together advanced healthcare facilities with a thoughtfully designed hospitality component, the project aims to support medical access, create employment, and strengthen Guwahati’s position as an important regional centre for healthcare, business and travel.”
