Two patients with cardiac rhythm disorders have undergone successful leadless pacemaker implantation at Narayana Hospital, Gurugram, highlighting the growing use of newer pacemaker technologies in cardiac care.
Leadless pacemakers are small devices positioned directly inside the heart. Unlike traditional pacemakers, they do not require pacing wires or a surgically created pocket beneath the skin. For patients who are clinically suitable, the technology can provide a less invasive option for managing certain heart rhythm conditions.
Both patients recovered well enough to potentially return home the following day, depending on their clinical status. Their post-treatment experiences also highlighted the emotional side of cardiac care, from concerns following diagnosis to apprehension about the procedure and the confidence they gained during recovery.
