CureMeAbroad Raises $1.1 Million to Scale Global Medical Tourism Platform

Medical tourism technology company CureMeAbroad has raised $1.1 million in a pre-seed funding round as it looks to expand its international hospital network, strengthen its technology platform and enter new patient markets.

The round was led by healthcare-focused venture capital firm SteerX Ventures, with existing investor AIRA also participating.

The Pune-based startup plans to deploy the new funding across several areas, including onboarding more accredited hospitals, expanding into additional patient source markets and enhancing its AI-powered technology. The company will also strengthen its operations and technology teams.

CureMeAbroad is preparing to broaden its treatment portfolio beyond elective procedures, with plans to enter specialties such as orthopaedics and oncology. It is also evaluating the possibility of establishing physical experience centres in selected international markets.

Founded in June 2025 by Aditya Oza and Mikhail Bohra, CureMeAbroad enables overseas patients to research hospitals, compare treatment options, verify healthcare providers, obtain treatment estimates and arrange medical care in different countries.

The platform brings together hospital discovery, treatment planning, pricing information and patient support. It currently records more than 22,500 visitors each month and has built a hospital network covering six countries.

The latest fundraise follows a $600,000 investment secured by the company in April from Roman Saini, Himanshu Ratnoo, Kunal Gupta, Devaiah Bopanna, Vikrant Potnis and AIRA.

CureMeAbroad said it is targeting $100 million in annual patient treatment bookings by FY2028. The company currently has a booking run rate of $4.8 million. The US, UK, Australia and Canada are among its major patient source markets.

The startup operates in an increasingly competitive medical travel technology segment, alongside platforms including Bookimed, PlacidWay, The Medical Tourism Company and Medical Departures. India-based Vaidam Health is also active in helping international patients identify hospitals and treatment options.

CureMeAbroad has received Medical Travel Facilitator Certification from Global Healthcare Accreditation (GHA). According to GHA, the company’s network includes more than 400 accredited hospitals across six countries.

With fresh capital and plans to widen both its geographic reach and specialty offerings, CureMeAbroad is positioning itself to build a larger technology-driven ecosystem for international patients seeking treatment overseas.
