Apollo Hospitals has launched ‘Always Open. Always Here.’, a new initiative to make routine and planned healthcare services available seven days a week, including Sundays.
Emergency, critical care and inpatient services at Apollo have always been available 24×7. The new programme expands Sunday access to outpatient consultations, diagnostics, preventive health checks, follow-ups and scheduled procedures.
The initiative aims to address a common barrier to timely healthcare: lack of time. Work schedules, family responsibilities and weekday commitments often cause people to postpone medical consultations and health checks.
Apollo’s Health of the Nation 2026 report highlights the growing burden of lifestyle diseases such as obesity, hypertension, diabetes and metabolic disorders. Screening data from more than 2.5 million people across Apollo’s network found that around 26% were hypertensive and 23% diabetic, despite having no visible symptoms. The findings underline the importance of preventive and regular healthcare.
Dr. Prathap C. Reddy, Founder & Chairman, Apollo Hospitals Group, said, “For more than four decades, Apollo has believed that healthcare is not only about treating illness, but about protecting health and preventing disease. ‘Always Open. Always Here.’ is a continuation of that promise. We have always been available for emergencies and critical care. We are now extending the same commitment to routine and preventive care across all seven days of the week. This is our seal of service to every Indian.”
He added, “If one timely consultation helps detect disease early or prevent a crisis, we would have changed a life. If we inspire millions to choose care before crisis, we would have changed the future.”
Building on Apollo’s healthcare legacy
Since 1983, Apollo has introduced several healthcare milestones in India, including advanced cardiac procedures, South Asia’s first Proton Cancer Centre, preventive healthcare through its Master Health Check programme and a major solid-organ transplant programme. Its preventive health initiatives have reached more than 30 million people.
Dr Preetha Reddy, Executive Vice Chairperson, Apollo Hospitals, said, “People should be able to seek medical care at a time that fits more easily into their lives. For working professionals, caregivers and families balancing multiple responsibilities, having the option to consult a doctor, complete a health check or continue with follow-up care, particularly on Sundays, can make a meaningful difference.”
Under the new initiative, Sunday services will depend on individual hospital schedules and may include specialist consultations, diagnostics, preventive screenings, follow-ups and planned procedures.
By extending routine healthcare to Sundays, Apollo Hospitals aims to make timely care more convenient and encourage people to prioritize prevention and early detection rather than wait for symptoms or emergencies.
