Manipal Health Expands Bengaluru Footprint With ₹130-Crore Kinder Women’s Hospital Deal

Manipal Health Enterprises Limited is set to expand its Bengaluru network through the acquisition of Kinder Women’s Hospital in Doddanekundi for ₹130 crore.

The company has entered into a Business Transfer Agreement (BTA) with Kindorama Healthcare Private Limited to take over the hospital’s business operations and assets. The transaction is an asset and business acquisition and does not involve the purchase of shares in Kindorama Healthcare.

Established in 2022, Kinder Women’s Hospital has 100 beds and is located in the Whitefield area, one of Bengaluru’s growing healthcare markets. Manipal Hospitals already has a presence in the region, making the deal an expansion of its existing network.

Focus on Whitefield

Dilip Jose, Managing Director and CEO, Manipal Health Enterprises, said, “The acquisition of Kinder Women’s Hospital strengthens our presence in Bengaluru’s fast-growing Whitefield micro-market and complements our existing healthcare ecosystem in the region.”

He added that Manipal would continue to strengthen its clinical capabilities while maintaining a patient-focused approach.

The transaction is expected to be completed within 90 days, subject to statutory and customary approvals, including those required for the change in ownership, along with fulfilment of the conditions set out in the BTA.

Once completed, the acquisition will take Manipal Hospitals’ network beyond 13,500 licensed beds across 51 hospitals in 14 states and Union Territories. The company says it serves around 8 million patients each year and has more than 11,000 doctors and 25,000 employees.

Expanding Healthcare Capacity

Manipal Hospitals operates a multispecialty healthcare network supported by clinical expertise, technology, research and innovation. Its hospitals are NABH accredited, while some facilities also hold NABL accreditation and recognition in areas including nursing and emergency care.

The Kinder deal comes amid continued investment in hospital capacity across major Indian cities. Rising populations and demand for specialized treatment are encouraging healthcare providers to expand their infrastructure.

For Manipal, the acquisition strengthens its Bengaluru footprint without requiring entry into a new market.

The ₹130-crore deal will add a 100-bed facility to Manipal’s network and deepen its presence in the strategically important Whitefield market. The acquisition also reflects the growing focus among major healthcare groups on expanding capacity in Bengaluru’s high-demand areas.
