Immuneel Therapeutics has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tata Memorial Centre (TMC) to strengthen clinical and translational research in advanced cell and gene therapies. The partnership is aimed at accelerating innovation in cancer treatment while expanding patient access to next-generation therapies across India.
The collaboration brings together TMC’s expertise in oncology research and clinical care with Immuneel’s strengths in cell therapy development and manufacturing. Together, the two organisations will work to advance immunotherapy and precision medicine, while supporting India’s vision of building a stronger and self-reliant healthcare innovation ecosystem.
As part of the agreement, both organisations will collaborate on clinical research, translational studies, manufacturing expansion, educational initiatives, and policy development related to cell and gene therapies. The framework is intended to support future projects that improve treatment outcomes and speed up the development of advanced cancer therapies.
One of the first initiatives under the partnership is a Phase 2 extension study to assess the safety and effectiveness of IMN-003A cell therapy in adult and pediatric patients with relapsed or refractory CD19-positive B-cell malignancies. The collaborators also plan to evaluate IMN-006 cell therapy through a Phase 1/Phase 2 clinical trial for patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma.
Beyond clinical studies, the MoU covers preclinical and laboratory research, co-development of new therapeutic candidates, and expansion of manufacturing capabilities for advanced therapies in India. The partnership will also conduct training and knowledge-sharing programmes to strengthen expertise in the rapidly evolving field of cell and gene therapy.
Another important focus area is policy engagement to support the development of regulatory frameworks for first-in-human clinical trials and promote the growth of India’s regenerative medicine and advanced therapeutics ecosystem.
