An AI-powered healthcare technology startup founded by Chandigarh University alumnus Utkarsh Luthra is working to simplify hospital operations through digital automation, with its platform now adopted by 98 hospitals across five states.
Medoc Health was developed with support from the Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator (CU-TBI), which has provided the startup with incubation, mentoring, technology infrastructure, industry exposure and business support.
The company reported a valuation of ₹22 crore and revenue of ₹1.26 crore for 2025-26.
Built for Smaller Cities
Medoc Health was created with a particular focus on healthcare providers in Tier-II and Tier-III cities, where hospitals may face technology and connectivity limitations. Its integrated platform covers hospital management, clinical documentation, diagnostics, insurance, patient records and communication.
The system also includes offline-first functionality for facilities dealing with unreliable internet connectivity and supports 12 Indian languages.
Luthra said the concept took shape during the COVID-19 pandemic, when fragmented processes and a lack of streamlined standard operating procedures created delays and operational challenges in hospitals.
“I saw the need for a technology-driven solution that could save time, streamline operations, and offer a cost-effective approach for hospitals, particularly across Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. The aim was to democratize access to efficient hospital and patient-care automation, making these solutions accessible beyond major urban centres,” Luthra said.
Nine Integrated Products
Medoc currently has nine integrated products designed to address different areas of hospital operations.
Its Axon platform handles outpatient and inpatient services, billing, inventory, pharmacy, human resources and finance. DocAssist focuses on clinical documentation and prescriptions, while Monarcs uses AI to analyse medical images and diagnostic information and identify findings for clinical review.
The company also offers solutions for insurance, compliance, communication and digital patient records.
Medoc Sync is among its key offerings. It converts handwritten prescriptions, laboratory reports and clinical notes into digital information, including documents written in multiple Indian languages.
According to the startup, its radiology technology can pre-screen X-rays, CT scans and MRI scans for more than 40 findings. Its diagnostics engine can process over 60 diagnostic panels.
Cost is another area the startup is targeting. Luthra said conventional automation for a 100-bed hospital can cost about ₹8-10 lakh, while Medoc’s solution can bring the cost to around ₹3 lakh.
Lower-Cost Automation
“A conventional automation system for a 100-bed hospital can cost around ₹8 to 10 lakh, whereas we have developed a solution that can bring the cost down to around 3 lakh, reducing the hospital automation cost by up to 60 per cent. The objective is not to replace doctors or nurses with technology, but to give them affordable tools that make their work more efficient and allow hospitals to improve productivity and grow their revenues,” Luthra added.
Funding and Expansion
Medoc has secured ₹10 lakh in seed funding from NIT Jalandhar through the Startup India ecosystem and is discussing an additional ₹50 lakh in funding. The startup has also raised ₹50 lakh from an angel investor.
With its focus on affordability, multilingual support and connectivity challenges, Medoc is seeking to extend digital hospital automation beyond major urban centres and make technology-enabled workflows more accessible to smaller healthcare facilities.
By combining hospital management, clinical documentation, diagnostics and patient-care tools on an integrated platform, Medoc Health is targeting some of the operational challenges faced by hospitals, particularly in India’s smaller cities.
