Regency Hospital Secures ₹110 Crore from BlackSoil to Expand Healthcare Infrastructure

Kanpur: Regency Hospital, a major tertiary healthcare provider in Uttar Pradesh, is set to strengthen its healthcare infrastructure after securing ₹110 crore in financing from BlackSoil Capital.

The funding will be used to support the hospital group’s expansion plans and investments in additional healthcare infrastructure and capacity.

With more than 30 years of experience in healthcare delivery, Regency operates facilities across Kanpur, Lucknow and Gorakhpur. Its clinical services cover a wide range of specialties, including oncology, nephrology, gastroenterology, cardiology and critical care.

The investment comes as demand for specialised healthcare continues to rise outside India’s major metropolitan cities. Growing healthcare needs in tier-2 and tier-3 markets, along with wider insurance coverage and increasing access to government healthcare schemes, are driving healthcare providers to expand their capacity.

Commenting on the financing, Abhishek Kapoor, CEO, Regency Hospital, said, “Regency has remained focused on expanding access to quality tertiary and super-specialty healthcare across Uttar Pradesh. The ₹110 crore financing from BlackSoil will support our investments in new healthcare infrastructure and enable us to build further capacity in markets where the demand for specialised care continues to grow.”

For BlackSoil Capital, the transaction adds to its expanding exposure to the healthcare sector. The investment firm has financed businesses across hospitals, diagnostics and medical equipment distribution and sees further opportunities in specialised healthcare.

Ankur Bansal, MD, BlackSoil, said, “Regency is an established regional healthcare operator with a strong operating track record and a clear pipeline for adding capacity. Its presence across tier-2 markets and depth in specialised care make it a good fit for our healthcare credit strategy. We see meaningful opportunities to finance established healthcare businesses as they invest in new capacity and infrastructure.”

BlackSoil plans to continue expanding its healthcare lending portfolio, particularly by supporting established healthcare businesses that are adding facilities and services in tier-2 and tier-3 cities.

The financing highlights the growing role of institutional capital in expanding specialised healthcare infrastructure beyond India’s largest cities. For Regency, the investment is expected to support its next phase of growth and strengthen access to tertiary and super-specialty services across Uttar Pradesh.
