Fortis Inaugurates Institute of Minimally Invasive Brain & Spine Surgery at Mumbai Neurosciences Conclave

Mumbai witnessed the inauguration of the Fortis Institute of Minimally Invasive Brain & Spine Surgery during the first annual neurosciences conclave organized by the Fortis Institute of Neurosciences.

The newly launched institute will be led by Dr. Jayesh Sardhara, who heads minimally invasive brain and spine surgery at Fortis Hospitals Mumbai. The inauguration ceremony was attended by senior leaders including Dr. Bishnu Panighari, Dr. S. Narayani, and Dr. Vishal Beri, along with a gathering of clinicians and healthcare administrators.

The two-day conclave, themed ‘Current Update on Advanced Neurosciences’, served as a national platform bringing together experts from neurology, neurosurgery, and spine care. Specialists, academicians, and practitioners engaged in discussions around the latest trends and evolving techniques in the field.

The scientific agenda included keynote sessions, surgical video presentations, expert panel discussions, and interactive forums. Key focus areas ranged from stroke care and neuro-oncology to advancements in minimally invasive neurosurgery and handling neuro-critical cases.

Dr Sardhara said, “The field of neurosciences is advancing rapidly, and it’s important for clinicians to keep pace with the latest innovations and evidence-based practices. Through this conference, we aim to create a platform that brings experts together, encourages the exchange of ideas, and helps improve patient outcomes. Minimally invasive neurosurgery represents the future of our specialty, where precision, technology, and innovation allow us to treat complex neurological conditions with smaller incisions, less tissue disruption, and faster recovery for patients.”

Dr Beri added, “This conference reflects our commitment to advancing clinical excellence and building strong academic ecosystems. By bringing together experts from diverse neuro focus areas, we are enabling meaningful discussions that translate into better, more integrated care for patients with simple to complex neurological conditions.”

Dr Narayani said, “At Fortis Mumbai, we continuously strive to strengthen platforms that drive knowledge-sharing and innovation in healthcare. This conference is a significant step in reinforcing our focus on advanced neurosciences and supporting the medical community with insights that enhance both clinical practice and patient care delivery.”

With the launch of the new institute and the success of its inaugural neurosciences conclave, Fortis Healthcare reinforces its vision of integrating advanced technology, clinical expertise, and collaborative learning to elevate neuro care standards. The initiative is expected to not only enhance access to minimally invasive treatments but also serve as a catalyst for continued innovation, research, and improved patient outcomes in the field of neurosciences.
