Chennai-based Iswarya Fertility Center has secured a growth investment exceeding ₹350 crore (approximately US$37 million) from OrbiMed Asia, a global healthcare-focused investment firm. The funding is expected to support the fertility provider’s next phase of expansion and strengthen access to reproductive healthcare across India.
Founded in 1986, Iswarya Fertility Center has built a network of more than 85 centres spread across eight Indian states. Over the past four decades, the organization has provided fertility care to over 300,000 couples and today offers a comprehensive range of reproductive services, including IVF, IUI, fertility preservation, genetic testing, and advanced fertility treatments.
The newly raised capital will be used to expand the company’s footprint by opening additional centres in both existing and underserved regions. Iswarya also plans to enhance its clinical infrastructure, strengthen digital capabilities, and invest in developing a larger pool of skilled embryology professionals.
With fertility care becoming an increasingly important component of India’s healthcare landscape amid declining birth rates, the company aims to improve accessibility while continuing to focus on clinical excellence, innovation, and medical education.
“We will invest in our people, technology and patient experience, ensuring that excellence remains at the heart of everything we do. We are delighted to welcome OrbiMed as our partner on this journey,” said Dr. Arun Muthuvel, Managing Director, Iswarya Fertility Center.
Commenting on the investment, Dr. Sunny Sharma, Partner and Senior Managing Director, and Arun Sadhanandham, Managing Director at OrbiMed, said in a joint statement, “Iswarya has established itself as one of the country’s leading fertility platforms through its strong clinical outcomes, trusted brand, capital-efficient operating model, and experienced leadership team.”
The strategic investment is expected to strengthen Iswarya Fertility Center’s expansion plans while enhancing the availability of advanced fertility services in more parts of the country. The partnership with OrbiMed is also likely to support the company’s long-term focus on innovation, patient care, and sustainable growth in India’s reproductive healthcare sector.
