Max Healthcare has expanded its international patient network in Africa with the opening of a new Patient Assistance Centre (PAC) in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The facility is the healthcare group’s fourth office on the continent, following centres in Nairobi, Addis Ababa and Lagos.
The new centre is designed to help patients from Tanzania and other parts of East Africa access specialised tertiary and quaternary healthcare services in India. It will act as a local contact point, helping patients and families understand treatment options and connect with Max Healthcare’s hospitals and specialists.
Patients can receive information on available treatments, estimated costs and hospital services. The centre will also facilitate video consultations with clinicians in India, helping patients obtain medical guidance before travelling for treatment.
In addition, the Dar es Salaam PAC will assist with hospital coordination, visa and travel-related requirements, interpreter services and other aspects of the international patient journey.
Max Healthcare provides advanced treatment across several specialised areas, including cancer care, cardiac sciences, neurosciences, orthopaedics, organ transplantation, renal care, robotic surgery and other complex medical procedures.
The expansion comes as demand for specialised medical expertise and advanced treatment options continues to grow across African markets. By establishing local assistance centres, Max Healthcare aims to make it easier for patients to access information and connect with its medical teams in India.
The healthcare group currently operates 11 international offices and Patient Assistance Centres across Asia and Africa. It receives more than 45,000 international patients representing over 180 nationalities every year.
The Dar es Salaam centre further strengthens the healthcare connection between India and Africa while providing patients in the region with a local channel to explore advanced treatment options in India.
